Video game developer Tecmo is to release an American football game for the NintendoWii.
Based on the Tecmo Super Bowl game, Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff will allow players to customise their teams, select "super abilities" to gain control of a game and listen to memorable football tunes.
A Wi-Fi and wireless multiplayer will also enable players to compete with friends across the country.
"We are extremely excited to bring back everyone’s favourite game to the Nintendo DS," said Ryan Gilbo, Tecmo’s executive producer.
"Kickoff is packed with everything that fans wanted to see in this revival. No other football game will ever compare to Tecmo Bowl as this is the game that started it all."
The game is due to be released in autumn 2008.
Meanwhile, Nintendo is believed to be considering launching a pole dancing game for its Wii-Fit line.
The company is said to be working with Peekaboo - which already sells a Carmen Electra pole dancing kit - over the production of a version of the game for the Wii.
