Action video game Commando: Steel Disaster has been released for the Nintendo DS .
XS Games, publisher behind the title, has announced that the title is set to hit retail shelves worldwide this week.
Commando: Steel Disaster puts gamers in control of elite Commando Storm who must put an end to his enemy Rattlesnake’s plot for world domination.
The 2D side-scrolling action game features a number of boss characters and challenging AI enemies, claims the game’s makers.
It also contains collectible items which can unlock hidden environments in the game for players to explore.
"The title offers dramatic battle scenes, where up to ten enemies can gang up at one time and attack in a variety of offensive patters," explains XS Games.
Eidos Interactive has also revealed that it plans to remake the classic fantasy game Gauntlet for the Nintendo DS, to be released in October.
