PlayStation 3 title LittleBigPlanet has been nominated for seven awards at the ninth Game Developers Choice Awards.
The game has been given nods in categories such as game of the year, best technology, best audio and innovation, with the winners expected to be announced at the end of March.
Braid was nominated for five awards, while Left 4 Dead and Grand Theft Auto IV were given four and three nods respectively.
Meggan Scavio, director of the Game Developers Conference (GDC), said: "Truly great games are the product of years of hard work by teams of incredibly dedicated and talented developers.
"It’s an underlying principle of GDC that we recognise these talents and honor their achievements."
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare dominated the nominations for the upcoming Bafta Video Games Awards.
The game has been given seven nods, including action and adventure, best game, use of audio, artistic achievement and multiplayer.
