Video games maker Electronic Arts (EA) is planning to release Sim Animals for the Nintendo Wii and DS consoles, it has been revealed.
According to UK magazine NGamer, the new title, which includes 25 animal species and 50 plant types, sees players clean up polluted areas and consider factors such as food chains to ensure the game runs smoothly.
"It’s a Woodland ecosystem god game where Disney-style characterisation meets the teeth and claws of the Discovery Channel," the publication claims.
Due to be released next year, up to four players can work on the same ecosystem simultaneously by picking up plants and animals to ensure they prosper.
EA has also revealed recently it is to launch a new MySims game with online features for the PC.
The title will allow players to construct buildings and objects to use cooperatively with up to seven friends online as well as chat and play games such as tag and hide-and-seek.
