Leading software publisher Capcom has announced that it is developing a sequel to hit title Dead Rising.
According to the company, Dead Rising 2 is being created for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, while it will be set several years after the events in the first game.
Players will discover that the zombie virus released in the original title was not contained, meaning a number of outbreaks of the problem continue to strike across the US.
In a statement, Capcom said the new game will "take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies".
The publisher added that the title will also include a range of new weapons and objects to battle the creatures.
Activision recently confirmed that it is developing a game based on the forthcoming sequel to the Transformers film.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be launched for the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and DS, PlayStation 2 and 3, PSP and PC.
