Bionic Commando given May launch dateCapcom has confirmed that it is releasing its new version of classic arcade game Bionic Commando in May.

Originally launched for the Nintendo Entertainment System around 20 years ago, the title has been remade for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The title follows the adventures of government operative Nathan Spencer, who is wrongly imprisoned but brought back into action after a city is struck by a vicious terrorist attack.

Mike Patton, the former lead singer of rock band Faith No More, provides the voice for the title character.

Capcom added in a statement: "Bionic Commando sees the return of the ultimate fusion of man and machine who became a firm favourite with gamers around the world."

Electronic Arts recently confirmed it is set to launch a new range of games featuring fictional assassin Jason Bourne.

The company has agreed a deal to create titles based on the books of author Robert Ludlum.
