A new music-based rhythm game is set to be launched by XS Games for the Nintendo Wii next month.
PopStar Guitar is expected to feature songs by the likes of 3 Doors Down and Blink 182 and comes with a peripheral which transforms the console’s remote controller into an "air guitar".
The title includes a career mode which allows players to start life in a garage band and move up to playing at a major battle of the bands-style contest.
Steve Grossman, chief executive officer of XS Games, said the title is a guitar-based game for "the whole family" to enjoy.
"The popularity of music rhythm games is at an all time high, but to date the games have primarily featured hard core metal, classic and alternative rock music," he added.
Microsoft recently announced it is launching a new karaoke game for the Xbox 360 console.
Lips is set to include songs by artists including Duffy, Coldplay, Kylie Minogue and Nirvana.
