Popstar game to be launched

A game designed to give girls the chance to experience the life of a popstar has been launched for the Nintendo DS.

Overplay is behind the new Musicstar: I Wanna Be a Popstar DS game, which is being published by Tivola and DreamCatcher.

The game sees players challenged to form a band and display their skills on a range of instruments as they look to further their career.

"If the player would like to form a band with her friends, she can use the multiplayer system in a cooperative mode, where each one selects a different instrument and all play the same song," Overplay added in a statement.

The game, which has already been released in Europe, will be available in the US from February 24th.

Nobilis also recently announced plans to launch a new music-related game for the Nintendo DS.

Music has been developed to offer players an insight into the theory behind writing songs.
