Pentax has launched the latest addition to its Optio M series of lightweight digital cameras.
The ten megapixel Optio M60 has a metal exterior, fiveX optical zoon and a 2.5-inch LCD monitor.
It’s face recognition function can identify up to 32 faces simultaneously while Pentax’s unique Auto Picture function has been updated enabling the camera to detect conditions and select the optimal mode for eight scenes - more than any other device in the Optio series.
Modes include Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, Night Scene Portrait, Standard, Flower, Sport and Candlelight.
"It is now possible to leave everything up to the camera and take photos of a wider variety of scenes easily and beautifully," Pentax claims.
Application functions also feature including Smile Capture, which identifies smiles and causes the camera to automatically take a photo, and Blinking Detection, which warns the photographer if the subject blinked when the photo was taken.
According to Photography Press, the camera, which will be available in silver, pink and blue, will be on sale from August 22nd, priced at around £90.
