Guitar Hero: On Tour released

Aspiring rock stars can now practice their favourite tunes on the move with the release of a Nintendo DS version of popular video game Guitar Hero.

Developed by Activision, Guitar Hero: On Tour features the new Guitar Grip peripheral which mimics a guitar fret board and fits "snugly" into the games console as well as a unique Guitar Hero pick-stylus, the company has announced.

Tracks including hits from Nirvana, OK Go, No Doubt, blink-182 and Bloc Party also feature in the game.

"Guitar Hero: On Tour offers handheld gamers an all-new Guitar Hero experience letting them unleash their inner rock star anywhere, anytime," said Dusty Welch, head of publishing for the games distributor RedOctane.

Users can play the game in a co-op mode via local wireless connection or compete head to head in a Guitar Duel using new Nintendo DS Battle Items.

Meanwhile, Neversoft is developing an Aerosmith Guitar Hero game for the X Box 360, Nintendo Wii and Play Station consoles.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith offers players "an unprecedented level of access to Aerosmith’s music catalogue and an unbeatable soundtrack", the game’s promoters have claimed.
