Activision has announced that a host of famous faces are to be featured in adverts for its forthcoming Guitar Hero title.
Olympic medallist Michael Phelps is to feature in US adverts for Guitar Hero World Tour alongside basketball player Kobe Bryant and baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
The promotion will see the sportsmen play along to Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger from the game, which will be launched on the other side of Atlantic on October 26th.
Robert Kotick, chief executive officer of Activision Blizzard, said the games franchise "has truly become a part of pop culture".
"This is only the first start-studded Guitar Hero World Tour commercial with many more to come. Just wait and see what we have up our sleeves," he added.
Last week, XS Games announced plans to launch a rhythm game for the Nintendo Wii next month.
PopStar Guitar is expected to feature songs by bands including Blink 182 and 3 Doors Down.
