Editing software designed for use with acclaimed video game Fallout 3 is being prepared for launch, according to the title’s publisher.
Bethesda Softworks has announced that the editor, which will allow PC owners to create their own content for the game, will be available at some point next month.
The company also announced that downloadable content for both the PC and Xbox 360 version of the game will be available next year, with the first of it, Operation: Anchorage, to be launched in January.
Discussing the plans, Todd Howard, game director for Fallout 3, said the developer has always seen the title as "a foundation for even more content".
He added. "It’s fun to create your own character, but it can be equally fun to create your own adventures."
Details about the future releases have come after Square Enix announced plans to launch three new expansion packs for Final Fantasy XI.
The scenarios have been created by one of the franchise’s original creators, Masato Kato.
