Animal Paradise sequel planned

A sequel to pet simulating game Animal Paradise is being developed for the Nintendo DS console, it has been revealed.

Games developer Empire Interactive has announced that Animal Paradise 2, which will include more animals and interactivity that its predecessor, is to be launched in the second quarter of next year.

"Given the popular success of Animal Paradise in Europe and our plans to bring the title to North America and other international markets this summer, we expect the release of Animal Paradise 2 to be greeted with enthusiastic demand by a large, well established fan-base," said Karim Farghaly, vice-president of sales at Empire Interactive.

Animal lovers may also be interested in the news that a Tamagotchi-themed simulation game is to be released for the Nintendo DS console.
