Website helps parents measure children’s feet

Website helps parents measure children's feetChildren’s shoe maker Start-rite has launched a new website to help parents accurately measure their children’s feet before they order footwear online.

Startriteshoes.com provides users with a free downloadable paper gauge which features length and width indicators as well as advice for parents on how to measure their children’s feet and fit shoes.

A plastic gauge and measuring tape, similar to that used in the retailer’s stores, is also available for purchase.

Parents then input the length of their child’s longer foot and the width of their wider foot into the website and are provided with the correct shoe size.

David Attwood, joint managing director at Start-rite Shoes said: "The fitting tool options are very easy to use, giving parents who choose to shop online the reassurance that the shoes will fit and that they are giving their children the best possible alternative to having shoes professionally fitted in-store."

Fat Shoes Day recently released a new range of children’s shoes that increase in size as the wearer’s feet grow.

Inchworm shoes can be extended by two half shoes sizes by pressing a button on the side of the shoe and pulling the toe out to the required length.
