Green beauty products, or more accurately products which are environmentally friendly, are proving increasingly popular on the high street.
A growing number of women, and indeed men, are concerned about the specific ingredients of the products they use, and in an era of progressively heightened green awareness, the demand for environmentally-friendly products is increasing, reports the Journal.
According to research from Mintel, well over 2,000 green products were launched last year in Europe alone.
Organic beauty products are also gaining a higher profile, and the experts suggest there are ways to integrate green products more fully into everyday life.
Sarah Stacey, co-author, along with Josephine Fairley, of The Green Beauty Bible, says: "You can go greener even if you go to a salon that isn’t - yet - green itself by taking your own natural products and asking your stylist and shampoo-er to use them."
The pair say that moving to greener products can be done on a gradual basis, but that chemicals should definitely be dumped, to the benefit of both body and environment.
Clothing brand Helly Hansen recently embraced the trend for all things green by launching a line of sustainable clothes, reports Electricpig.co.uk.
