Battlefield: Bad Company features "crazily malleable environments", according to one games expert.
Writing for the Independent, Jack Riley explains that the new game offers fans of first-person shooters something they have not really had before - locations in which almost everything can be destroyed.
He said: "No longer can your in-game persona relax hiding behind a wall - because in Battlefield, there is a pretty high chance that if you do, that wall is going to come crashing down around you."
But the innovation also offers advantages to the player, allowing them to blast a route to their goal or snipe at enemies through newly made gaps in walls, Mr Riley stated.
As well as this, the feature has helped improve the game’s multi-player experience, he added.
Battlefield: Bad Company, which is set in the near future, is published by Electronic Arts and is available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
