Philips is to launch two new touchscreen mobile phones, it has been announced.
The two handsets, the X800 and Xenium X-Connect, represent a return to the high-end market for the manufacturer, Tech Gadgets reports.
According to the news provider, the Xenium makes use of the Windows Mobile operating system and also has a 3-inch screen, Bluetooth connectivity and an built-in GPS receiver.
The X800 features a slightly smaller screen and a 2 megapixel camera and handwriting technology, the website adds.
"If believed, it has the ability to deliver up to 850 hours of standby time and up to eight hours of talk time on a single charge," the website states.
Details of when the new phones will be released and how much the handsets will cost has not yet been released, the news provider concluded.
However, the new handset will have to compete with the HTC Touch Diamond which Stuff.tv says "runs rings around the iPhone".
