The new BlackBerry Curve 8900 mobile handset is set to launch before the end of this month.
Research in Motion (RIM) has announced that the device, which has been described by the manufacturer as the thinnest full Qwerty smartphone to date, will be available from December 20th.
The device also includes a 2.4-inch light-sensing display and a 3.2-megapixel digital camera, as well as built-in GPS and Wi-Fi capabilities.
Mark Guibert, vice-president of corporate marketing for RIM, said the model "packs an amazing range of useful features".
He added: "It delivers a winning combination for people who want exceptional phone quality, reliable email and messaging and great media features together with a well designed keyboard and renowned ease-of-use."
BlackBerry’s Storm recently featured in a countdown of the five mobile devices set to be on many peoples’ Christmas lists in the coming months.
