The manufacturer’s W180 device can now be bought from high street retailer Carphone Warehouse for around £2.89.
According to reports, the handset includes a long battery life, FM radio and polyphonic ringtones.
Talking to the Sun, Carphone Warehouse chief executive Andrew Harrison outlined the thinking behind the launch of the device.
"Customers want the best value products in this difficult economic climate," he explained to the newspaper.
"We’re delighted to bring them an even cheaper credit-crunch busting Christmas handset."
