The second generation of the iPod Touch feel more like "a finished product" according to a technology website.
In a review by techradar.com, device was hailed for its "design flair" and for being a "ridiculously thin" 110mm.
During tests, the iPod Touch 2nd Gen’s battery was found to have improved to allow for 36 hours of audio or six hours for video when fully charged.
The site also praised its 480 x 320 pixel 3.5inch display, with built-in touch screen capabilities and an in-built accelerometer which allows volume and tracks to be skipped by rotating or shaking the device.
"Genius playlists can be created and saved on the iPod touch without having to do anything on your computer," it was added.
"As a song is playing you just tap the iPod’s screen, then tap the Genius button to create the playlist. It’s actually a really nice feature."
Apple also recently unveiled its thinnest ever iPod Nano, the fourth generation of the mp3 player which is available in nine colours.
