BlackBerry’s Bold handset has been described by a website as a "sharply designed" mobile phone.
The device is one of several to feature in CNet.com’s list of the best phones released during 2008, alongside the likes of Apple’s iPhone 3G, Nokia’s E71 and the Samsung Innov8.
Other systems included in the article are LG’s Renoir KC910, Samsung’s i450, the Sony Ericsson W890i and the Telstra EasyTouch Discovery.
Discussing the latter, writer Joseph Hanlon said it was "the perfect first phone for people who are not confident with mobile technology".
He added: "Designed for ease of use, the Discovery has a few extra toys to play with once you’ve mastered the basics."
It was recently revealed that BlackBerry is to launch its Curve 8900 handset, which includes a 3.2-megapixel camera and 2.4-inch display, before the end of this month.
The device, which is also believed to be the thinnest full Qwerty smartphone to date, is expected to be available to buy from December 20th.
