Camping is out and ‘glamping’ is in, according to one fashion expert.
Writing for the Times, Lisa Armstrong explains that the trend is now to inject a little bit of glamour into the outdoor pursuit usually enjoyed by Boy Scouts.
She says: "As with holidaying at home, ‘glamping’ is one of those money-saving eco exercises that coincidentally - serendipitously - offers limitless windows for buying stuff, especially if you are a novice."
Ms Armstrong revealed that she is an admirer of the Celia Birtwell tent which has a "cute pattern" and would set consumers back by around £490.
However, those who do not want to embrace the great outdoors fully can still enjoy the fashions, she adds.
Meanwhile, those who are looking for smarter wear might want to look at the offerings from Amana.
According to the Guardian, the firm offers ethical fashion items that are suitable for the workplace.
