Costal gardens can be harsh environments so one expert has put together some tips on how to get the best out of such locations.
Writing for the the Daily Telegraph, Bunny Guinness explains that as well as the usual garden furniture, people should also invest in windbreaks to help protect their plants.
She states that people can either use plants or fences in order to achieve this effect.
"Ideally, you need narrow gaps to filter the wind, as in a picket fence made from roofing battens or chestnut pales," Ms Guinness says.
People might also want to consider sinking the seating area in to the ground in order to provide even more shelter, she adds.
Last week, Faraway Furniture recommended that people should take the time to maintain any garden furniture they might have.
Suggestions made by the firm include ensuring that items are kept covered up during harsh winter months and treating wooden items to lengthen their life.
