Bedside furniture ‘is vital’

A bedside table is one of the most vital pieces of furniture in the home, it has been claimed.

Writing for the Huddersfield Daily Examiner, Emma Davison explained that despite the importance of the item, many people take it for granted and just dump things on it.

This means that people might not get the most from their bedside table, she warned.

She suggested that consumers take sometime to consider what they want from their bedside table, both in terms of design and function.

"If you love the luxurious rooms you’ve enjoyed in holiday hotels, John Lewis’s Hotel range, from £195, could appeal. It features slim, streamlined dark wood furniture which would suit an Eastern look," she said.

She added that a light and airy atmosphere can be created by opting for Scandinavian or New England style furniture.
