Sharp has announced that it is launching the world’s biggest LCD TV and plans to sell the system next month.
The electronics manufacturer is planning to put the 108-inch system on display at the Shinjuku Piccadilly cinema complex in Tokyo and it has stated that it will retail for 11 billion yen (£52,000).
According to the company, the television includes HDMI and DVI-I connectivity along with a range of other inputs, while it also features a fan-less design to reduce the amount of noise it produces.
Sharp also states that the system offers "wide viewing angles and high contrast even in bright locations".
The company added that the model "will be showing vivid, vibrant video images such as movie trailers and advertising movies" when it goes on display on July 19th.
Details about the world’s largest LCD TV have been released after Samsung recently unveiled its prototype hybrid display.
The company’s new Digital Masterworks Art-TV was created to be used as both an art display and a traditional television.
