Sansa media players may not be as sexy as Apple iPods but they are a more straightforward device, according to one technology news website.
CrunchGear reports that the Sansa View does not require any special software to be installed on users’ computers.
Reviewer Scott Merrill wrote that the reason he likes the mp3 players is that they come in the box with a USB cable and no need for software.
The device can play MP3, WMA, WAV, and DRM-free AAC audio files, and MP4, WMV and H.264 video.
Its screen has a 320 by 240 resolution, which is the same as both the iPod Nano and the Zune, but is larger than both measuring up at 2.4-inches.
The device also has a micro-SD slot to expand its 16GB storage capabilities.
"I really enjoy being able to connect a Sansa player to my computer and have it immediately recognized as any other USB media. I can simply drag-and-drop media files into the proper directory, and they’re ready to play," Mr Merrill added.
SanDisk was founded in 1988.
