Samsung’s S3 mp3 player uses the "distract with disco light" approach, according to one technology news website.
CNet reports the device boasts effective EQ presets, customisable menus, fonts and playing screens and a decent bass-enriched sound.
The report notes the device’s folder navigation and ability to delete songs directly from the device are also other good points.
Reviewer Ella Morton wrote the mp3 player is available in two, four and eight GB models and illuminated buttons which spring to life when touched.
Ms Morton claims Samsung has "gone for gold" in the music playback options.
"Pressing the menu button while a song plays brings up a long list of goodies, including EQ presets, user-definable EQ, and a "Street Mode" function, which claims to make your songs sound better amid a cacophony of urban traffic," she adds.
The review notes the S3 has a 1.8-inch screen with 176 x 220 pixels.
Samsung was founded in 1938.
