The new Blu-ray player from Samsung might be more affordable than other devices, but it has not cut too many corners, according to one reviewer.
Writing for Pocket Lint, Chris Hall explains that the BD-P1500 provides the great pictures you would expect from a high definition media device.
He says: "There is nothing in the design to offend and we found that the Blu-ray playback was excellent.
"The upscaling performance was pretty good and the major audio bases [are] covered."
Because of its reasonable price, the player is a great way to access the high-definition market "without breaking the bank", he adds.
The device does lack the connectivity of some more expensive players, but that is something people should expect to pay a premium for anyway, Mr Hall states.
Meanwhile, T3.com has revealed that the Philips DCP951 portable DVD player also features an iPod dock.
