Pioneer’s DV-410V upscaling DVD player has been praised in a new review for its level of connectivity.
The model came out top in a group test of systems of its kind by AVReview.co.uk’s Danny Phillips, but was not given first place due to its level of picture performance.
Instead, the device beat off competition from players including the Toshiba SD-480E thanks to the inclusion of a USB port, as well as a better user interface and WMV and AAC playback.
Writing on the website, Mr Phillips said: "This Pioneer may be a shade more expensive than its three group test rivals but with a feature list like this, it might be worth stumping up the extra cash.
"The list of supported formats goes beyond the norm."
Earlier this year, Toshiba launched the new XD-E500 upscaling DVD player.
According to the electronics manufacturer, the new system includes upconversion to a resolution of 1080 pixels and "takes DVD picture quality to a whole new level".
