Many people would love to own a 65-inch Pioneer TV but at around £4,000 a time, not everyone is in the position to buy one.
However, the might be about to change with the firm announcing that is to embark on joint venture with Panasonic, reports techradar.com.
According to the website Pioneer will share its technology know-how so that Panasonic can make super panels for both firms.
"So what we’re going to get is improved Panasonic Viera TVs. But also improved Pioneer Kuro TVs, at cheaper prices," the gadget site claims.
Adding: " It’ll be interesting to see how different the Viera and Kuro TVs are, once the next generation rolls off the factory conveyor belt in 16 months’ time."
Both firms’ plasma TVs will face stiff competition from LCD TVs though, with Sharp’s Tommaso Monetto telling technradar.com that the latter is edging ahead in terms of quality.
