Philips’ PET723 DVD player ‘features vibrant colours’

Philips‘ new portable DVD player has been praised in a review for creating "vibrant colours".

Register Hardware’s Sam Hammond has stated the company’s new PET723 system, which can also be used as a digital photo frame, creates a "decent picture".

In addition, the anti-shock feature on the model was described as effective, while the screen’s anti-glare technology makes it easier to watch content on the player.

However, the battery life of the system was not warmly received, with the writer saying: "With a fully-juiced battery we only got one hour 50 minutes into Casino Royale before the player decided enough was enough.

"You’ll be able to improve on this if you’re watching a movie from an SD card, but we were hoping for more."

The publication of the review has come after Stephen Patrick of Pocket Lint stated that LG’s DP271 portable DVD player "delivers reasonable quality".

Writing on the website, he added that the £100 system is "great value for money".
