Leading electronics manufacturer Philips has announced the launch of its latest LCD TV set.
The company’s Essence 42PES0001 model weighs just 16 kilograms and is 38 millimetres deep at its thickest point, which suggests it has been designed particularly for those who would like a wall-mounted system.
In addition, the 42-inch device includes a contrast ratio of 66,000:1, as well as three HDMI ports and a speaker bar.
According to reports, the LCD TV’s features are mainly run through a receiver box which connects to it via a single cable and can be sat up to four metres away from it.
Prices for the Essence 42PES0001 are expected to start around £1,999.
Details about the new system have come after TrustedReviews’ John Archer described Panasonic’s TH-65VX100E plasma TV as "truly groundbreaking".
He claimed the pictures produced on the model were never "anything less than stunning", while its colour palette was also found to be impressive.
