The TH-42PZ80 from Panasonic produces "natural, vibrant colours", according to a new review.
According to Stuff.tv, the LCD TV’s performance in that area makes up for the fact that its general picture is not as sharp or free of video noise as rival systems available on the market.
The website added that the model also includes a "first-rate" digital tuner, as well as decent photo viewing facilities.
"A full HD, 1920 x 1080 panel, it boasts most of the key performance-enhancing features in Panasonic’s arsenal, including support for 1080p/24fps and 100Hz motion-scan," it explained.
"You’ll also find three HDMI inputs (one conveniently placed on the fascia under a folding flap, making it easier to access for gamers), plus component and Scart inputs."
LG recently announced plans to add a new LCD TV to its Scarlet range of systems.
The electronics manufacturer’s new LG80 model includes a 3.1-channel virtual surround system and speakers that automatically emerge from the side of the set as it is put in use.
