A leading electronics manufacturer has revealed that one of its new plasma TV models has won a major award.
Panasonic’s 2009 Viera HDTV G10-series was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and was named the ‘Best of CES’ in the television category by judges from technology website CNet.
The TV is available in either a 54, 50, 46 and 42-inch version and boasts a contrast ratio of 40,000:1 as well as 1080p resolution.
Bob Perry, executive vice-president of Panasonic, said "stunning picture quality, connectivity, cutting edge technology and service" marked the Viera range out from its rivals.
He added: "The award underscores Panasonic’s continued leadership in the flat panel industry and the strength of the Plasma HDTV category for delivering the best picture quality available."
Panasonic recently unveiled a new 8.1-megapixel digital camera.
The new Lumix DMC-LS85 is powered by AA batteries and includes 4x optical zoom, the company’s F2.8 quality DC Vario lens and a 2.5-inch LCD display.
