A leading camera manufacturer has unveiled a new 12.1-megapixel compact model featuring 24x wide angle optical zoom.
Nikon’s new Coolpix P60 system also features high-speed continuous facilities for up to 45 shots, which the company claims is ideal for those who regularly enjoy sports photography.
In addition, it boasts a three-inch vari-angle LCD screen and range of other special features, including quick retouch, anti-blur and face detection for up to 12 people.
Mark Pekelharing, product manager for consumer products at Nikon Europe, said the model highlights the company’s "devotion to camera enthusiasts".
He added: "The amazingly powerful 24x zoom, three-inch LCD screen with vari-angle tilt function, vibration reduction, and high sensitivity make the P90 a no-compromise bridge between a compact camera and a D-SLR."
Nikon recently launched its new D3X D-SLR camera, which includes a 24.5-megapixel CMOS imaging sensor, a MultiCAM3500 51-point autofocus system and a three-inch VGA TFT monitor.
