A leading software and hardware company has announced plans to launch a new portable media player next year, according to reports.
Sega is expected to launch its Sega Vision device, which is expected to be compatible with games, music and video content, within the next 12 months.
According to Register Hardware, the system is also expected to feature portable TV and e-book viewing facilities, as well as an in-built digital camera.
The website reports that none of the player’s specifications have been fully confirmed by the company, although it claims that the device should be available in the UK at the start of next year.
Sega is also yet to confirm the price of the new system.
Reports on the portable media player have come as Square Enix prepares to launch a new game exclusively available on Sony’s PSP device.
Star Ocean: First Departure includes new fully-voiced animated scenes, as well as an improved battle system and a new game engine.
