Samsung unveils Pebble

Samsung unveils Pebble The new Pebble mp3 player has been unveiled by Samsung.

As the name suggests, the Pebble "reminds one of a stone" with its "shiny rounded top", laptoplogic reports.

With no screen, controls for the new mp3 player are stored on its underside.

Mp3, OGG and WMA are all compatible formats for the music player, which has 13 hours of battery life.

Although the Pebble’s capacity of 1GB may seem limited, models with larger capabilities might be available in the future, the new provider claims.

Available in a wide range of colours, the Pebble will on sale in America in June.

Meanwhile, Microsoft’s 80GB Zune has been described by one reviewer as a model which "finally giving everyone a true alternative to the iPod".

Slimmer than the first-generation Zune, the new model measures 4.3 inches high by 2.4 inches wide by 0.5 inches deep, Donald Bell reports for cNet.
