The Apple iPod’s reign as the leader of the mnp3 player pack will soon end, it is being claimed by one of the firm’s co-founders.
Steve Wozniak maintains the firm’s domination of the market is unlikely to last much longer and the economic downturn will result in fewer product launches, it has been reported by the Daily Telegraph.
Talking to the publication, the man who helped form Apple in 1976 said the product had enjoyed a long life at the top but "everyone has got one or two or three".
"You get to a point when they are on display everywhere, they get really cheap and they not selling as much," he explained.
Meanwhile, it was reported by Sync Blog that the new Sony walkman offers extraordinary sound and is chasing the iPod at the top of the mp3 player market.
Reviewer Simon Cohen wrote the NWZ-S736F S-series is sounding a warning to Apple that its iPod could be toppled from the peak of the market.
