Electronics firm LG has taken the wraps off what it claims is the "world’s most energy-efficient" LCD TV.
Crave reports the Flatron W2252TE is being hailed as an eco innovation as it uses less power than comparable monitors.
Experts at website SmartPlanet say the device offers a 45 per cent power reduction on other models, according to LG.
CNet.com reports: "The 22-inch widescreen LCD, which is headed for the UK market, supposedly uses 40 fewer watts to operate than do comparable monitors–an energy saving of 45 percent."
LG has also just launched three new models as part of its Verizon Wireless series of mobile phones.
The LG Dare phone includes a touchscreen in a similar vein to the iPhone and also boasts a stylus and handwriting recognition programme.
A virtual QWERTY keyboard is also part of the phone’s features, while the LG Decoy will have a stowaway Bluetooth headset designed to slot into the back of the handset.
