The new Kuro KRL-37V LCD TV from Pioneer is an "extremely impressive" system, according to a new review.
Stuff.tv has claimed that while its price tag of £1,200 is "a stumbling block", the model is a major option for a number of viewers in "pure performance terms".
The site said the model handles pictures from its integrated Freeview tuner very well, while it also copes admirably when used in conjunction with Blu-ray.
It said: "The TV picks up a decent amount of detail in dark scenes but blacks aren’t quite as rich as we’d like and matters aren’t helped by a slightly uneven backlight – not something we’d expect from such an expensive set."
Stuff.tv added that its audio settings also are not "too thin or tinny".
Electronics firm Sony recently confirmed that its new Bravia XEL-1 television is now available for people in the UK to pre-order.
The OLED system is thought to be the world’s thinnest TV.
