JVC’s Everio GZ-MG330 digital camcorder is suited to those who want "a small, unobtrusive camcorder that records good-quality footage and doesn’t cost the earth," according to one reviewer.
Writing for Cnet, Patrick Wignall says the hard-disk device is small enough to fit in "even the tiniest of bags" and is available for around £230.
He states that the camcorder has a 30GB hard drive, four recording modes, 35x optical zoom and is available in red, silver, blue and black.
It also has auto and manual settings, with the latter giving the user control over things such as white balance and exposure.
However, the camcorder is "rubbish" at taking still photographs, Mr Wignall comments.
"JVC has really hit a sweet spot with the petite and handsome Everio GZ-MG330," he concludes.
"It shoots great quality standard-definition footage, has a long optical zoom range and is very easy to use."
Photographers looking for a point-and-shoot digital camera might want to consider the Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH.
Cnet says it is a "great choice" because of its "small size, excellent image quality and a solid, though not extensive, feature set".
