Music lovers can use their large-capacity mp3 players as a way of protecting their music library, according to one technology news website.
Cnet reports that those who keep their music as audio files can rely on utilities such as the Music Rescue or 4Media iPod to PC Transfer to back up their collections.
Commentator Matt Rosoff advises those wanting to back up their libraries using such features to check out the Apple website which has posted instructions on how to do so.
He adds that the Microsoft Zune also has a "pretty straightforward" reverse sync process.
"That’s one nice thing about having a large-capacity MP3 player: if you’re lazy about backup, at least you still have all (or most) of your tunes," Mr Rosoff claims.
Meanwhile it was reported by Reuters earlier this month that Apple’s iPod Touch was named T3’s gadget of the year at the technology magazine’s annual awards.
