iPod Touch ‘best option’

Apple’s iPod Touch is the best option among advanced personal video player (PvP) devices, according to one technology website.

Reviewer Jasmine France writes in Cnet.com that despite being against touch screens as a general rule, she "actually enjoyed" using Apple’s offering.

Ms France adds the device uses solid state flash memory which is more "durable" and "stable" than other hard-drive memory types.

However, she does concede that its size along makes it less desirable as an everyday device.

The review continues that consumers must consider whether a slimmer design, dedicated volume controls and voice recording capabilities are worth the extra $60 (£30) between first-generation and second-generation models.

According to Ms France, these features are all that differentiates the new iPod Touch and its predecessor.

Cnet.com also reported this week that the Slacker G2 is the perfect mp3 player for the lazy person.

The reviews added the device integrates the firm’s "excellent" free music service.
