Last week’s dual release of iTunes 8 and two new iPods was an act of genius by Apple, according to one technology news website.
Tiger Weekly reports last Tuesday’s (September 9th) launch of the new software and mp3 players unleashed Apple’s Genius technology upon the market.
Writing for the website, Kayla Falgoust says iTunes’ most innovative new feature has the capability to find songs that go great together.
This enables users to create playlists filled with songs, which complement each other all at the click of a button.
Once the user has selected a song the Genius technology then finds another 24 suitable accompanying tracks to complete the playlist.
Ms Falgoust said she was impressed with the technology’s choices after she selected Autolux’s Here Comes Everybody which iTunes chose to follow with artists such as Broken Social Scene, Interpol, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.
According to infosync.com, the iPod touch used to play second fiddle to the iPhone but this is set to change.
The website said: "Apple has staked a new flag in the sand and declared the Apple iPod touch 2G its own distinct device, with its own benefits and shortcomings."
