Garmin’s Nuvi 760 GPS device has been named the best device of its kind in a recent group test.
The recent analysis by Consumer Reports rated the Nuvi as the top system after testing 39 devices, calling it a "good all-round package" which is easy to use with "a number of advanced features".
Other highly rated systems include Garmin’s Nuvi 660 and 350, as well as the TomTom Go 920T.
Magellan’s Maestro 4250 also scored well in the test, which also found that the more expensive devices were not necessarily the best systems available to consumers looking for a sat-nav.
In a recent review on Stuff.tv, it was claimed that people who are new to GPS devices will "love" the TomTom Go 930.
The website said that while the system may not be so suitable for people who already own such a navigation tool, it would be a useful first purchase for those looking to enter the market.
