A major electronics manufacturer is set to unveil its first ultra-thin LCD TV.
Mitsubishi has unveiled its as-of-yet untitled 40-inch LCD TV which, according to the company, measures just 40mm deep.
The TV, which has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, operates using a tuner that can be stored away and connects to the screen using a wireless link-up.
According to Mitsubishi, the wireless high-definition interface can operate over a range of 30 metres.
Currently the LCD TV is only set to be released in Japan this autumn for a price of ¥500,000 (£2,450).
There are no confirmed plans for when the screen will be made available to consumers worldwide.
Kevin Miller from CNet.com has praised the Panasonic TC-32LX85 in a recent review as being a good overall performer with a particularly impressive "colour accuracy".
