Hitachi’s latest ultra-thin TV has been praised in a review for its "breathtaking design and pictures".
Technology website Techradar.com claims that the Hitachi UT42MX70 is less than a third of the depth of "your typical flat TV", being only 35mm thin.
According to the site, the device is aimed at the audio visual market, as to minimise on space it does not contain either a TV tuner or built-in speakers.
The UT42MX70 has a full high definition 1,080 pixel count and 16bit colour processing, which the reviewer says results in the "best ever flat TV picture Hitachi has ever produced".
"Adding to such hi-def purity are some vibrant colour tones, including rich, credible reds so often rendered orange by rival screens," adds the site.
"Fine detail reproduction and viewing angle is excellent, too."
Trustedreviews.com’s Andy Wandervell recently praised Samsung’s SyncMaster T240HD 24-inch DTV in a review for being a "pretty decent combination" of a TV and a monitor.
