Trevor Baylis’ new Eco Media Player bumps up the green mp3 device’s specification, according to one technology news website.
It is reported by T3.com that the Eco Media Player Revolution makes up for the original, which lacked the spec and the looks for a truly wide appeal.
According to the site’s review, the new device has opted for its "recycled" and dated look but has managed a "hefty" improvement in its spec.
The new player includes "more power per crank of the handle, an improved interface and increased storage from 2GB to 4GB", which is further boosted by SD card capabilities.
Reviewer David Walker notes the device is more format-friendly now as it can play mp3, WMA, AAC, OGG and WAV audio, along with WMV and MOV video.
And if that is not enough Mr Walker adds that an FM radio recording device is also available.
The device costs from £130.
Mr Baylilss was awarded an OBE by the Princess Royal at Buckingham Palace in 1997.
