The Nikon Coolpix P80 has been described as a "competent all-round" camera in a new review.
Gavin Stoker from Macworld.co.uk said that though the camera may not be "particularly trailblazing" it does allow for a broad variety of compositions.
The Coolpix P80 has a 10.1 megapixel lens with an 18x optical zoom, with the camera powering up and ready to take pictures within a second according to the writer.
Speaking about the quality of shots that the Coolpix P80 can achieve, he explains: "Images pack in plenty of detail, with colours well saturated yet not unnatural, and free of visible camera shake at extreme telephoto.
"White balance, too, is accurate and there’s no noticeable pixel fringing between areas of high contrast, which is impressive."
Alexa Wriggins, a reviewer for PC World, recently praised Canon’s PowerShot A590 IS digital camera for the "high quality images" which it produces.
