Budding photographers might be interested to know that one newspaper has compiled a list the best compact digital cameras around.
Included in the Independent’s top ten are the Olympus MJU 1030SW, the Canon Digital Ixus 970 IS and the Samsung NV24 HD.
Also mentioned is the Sony Cyber-shot W130, of which the news provider says: "Sony’s image stabilisation makes it perfect for shooting moving subjects, and the Smile shutter feature waits until your subject grins before it takes a shot."
The camera has an eight-megapixel sensor and a 4x optical zoom, the paper adds.
Meanwhile, those looking for a camera with slightly better resolution might want to consider the Fujifilm FinePix F60fd, which offers users 12-megapixel pictures.
Recently, AgfaPhoto revealed it has released a new camera which features touchscreen technology.
Camera Town reports that the DC 1338sT offers a range of functions "at lightening pace" and comes with a "chic" black metal case.
